How does the Rating system work?

Your Rating measures how accurately you predict match outcomes — home win, draw, or away win — on a scale of 0.0 to 9.9. It is calculated from your most recent 100 settled predictions, so it always reflects your current form. You need at least 10 settled predictions before a Rating is assigned and you appear on the Global Leaderboard.

Is footcaster a gambling service?

No. footcaster has no connection to gambling of any kind. There is no real money involved, no virtual currency, no entry fees, and no payouts — players never pay to submit a prediction and are never compensated for a correct one. footcaster is played purely for the love of football. It is a free, skill-based game where the only reward is the satisfaction of knowing your football better than anyone else on the leaderboard.

Which football leagues and competitions are covered?

footcaster covers competitions across five categories: Leagues, Cups, UEFA Club Competitions, Continental, and the World Cup. Domestic leagues and cups are available for 84 countries, spanning Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. UEFA Club Competitions include the Champions League and Europa League. Continental tournaments covered are EURO, Copa América, AFC Asian Cup, CONCACAF Gold Cup, and OFC Nations Cup. The 2026 World Cup is also included.

When is the deadline to submit a prediction?

Predictions must be submitted before kick-off. Once a match starts, the prediction window for that fixture closes and no further submissions or edits are accepted. You can change your prediction any number of times before kick-off — only your final submitted prediction counts.

Question 6

Do I need to predict every match to stay competitive?

Accepted Answer

You don’t have to predict every match, but staying active matters. If you submit no predictions for more than 21 days, your Rating begins to decay. Beyond that grace period, your Rating decreases gradually and reaches zero after 81 days of total inactivity. Submitting any new prediction stops the decay immediately and your Rating is recalculated from your updated prediction window.

How is my data and privacy handled?

footcaster collects only the data required to operate the game. To register, only a valid email address is required. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Your prediction history is visible on your profile and your account can be deleted at any time via your account settings. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is footcaster free to play?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Predicting matches and competing on Leaderboards is completely free. Creating an account costs nothing and there is no paid subscription. You will never be required to pay to submit predictions or appear on the Leaderboard.
